The Police have recovered a stolen Nissan pickup belonging to Communication Minister, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, which was taken from her office last Monday.
The vehicle was retrieved in an intelligence-led operation and is now in the custody of the Dansoman Police.
Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Grace Ansah-Akrofi, Director of Public Affairs, informed the media in Accra on Thursday that efforts were ongoing to apprehend those responsible for the theft.
She also announced the arrest of 17 more suspects linked to post-election disturbances, bringing the total number of arrests to 123.
ACP Ansah-Akrofi stated that the police are actively searching for those involved in the recent vandalism of police stations in Techiman and Wenchi, in the Bono East and Bono regions, respectively.
In a strong warning to those in hiding, ACP Ansah-Akrofi said: “How long can you run? How much longer can you endure this self-imposed imprisonment? We will find you, and you will face justice.”
She reassured government agencies and their workers of maximum protection, urging them to continue their duties without fear.
“We’ve got your back and will ensure your safety,” she said.
ACP Ansah-Akrofi said the Police would continue to intensify patrols and operations nationwide to ensure peace and stability.
She commended Civil Society Organisations and the Clergy for their collaboration and commendation of the Police’s efforts during and after the elections.
ACP Ansah-Akrofi urged citizens to report any security concerns by calling the toll-free number 0800-311-311, emphasizing that the Police remained committed to maintaining law and order across the country.
