The University Teachers Association of Ghana is insisting that it will not ask its members to end their weeklong strike. UTAG commenced the strike last Friday demanding increased salaries and the payment of salary arrears. At a meeting Thursday night, the association resolved that it will remain steadfast until the grievances of members are addressed. Dr. Ohene Yankyera who is the President of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology branch of UTAG, told Joy News that members have resolved to remain steadfast until all monies owed them are paid. He said the National President of UTAG at the meeting showed members letters inviting the association to meet with Vice-Chancellors Ghana, the Labour and Fair Wages and Salaries Commissions. UTAG will later Friday meet with the Fair Wages Commission to discuss their placement on the Single Spine Salary Structure. Source: Joy News/Ghana
