Ghana goalkeeper Richard Kingson conceded six goals in a league match in Cyprus over the weekend but the returnee Black Stars shot-stopper will not be blamed for avalanche of goals.
Some sloppy defending led to Kingston’s club Doxa Katokopia being thrashed 6-0 by giants Omonia Nicosia in Saturday’s league game.
The humiliating home defeat has led to intense criticism of the Doxa defenders in the Cypriot newspapers but the experienced Kingston was somewhat spared.
But the result is massive ammunition to the Ghanaian critics of Richard Kingson who have opposed the return of the shot-stopper to the Black Stars.
But Kingson will stay resolute in his quest to stay in the Ghana team ahead of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
He was on the bench when Ghana thrashed Egypt 6-1 in the first-leg of the World Cup playoffs.
