Vlisco Group, a leading authentic designer and manufacturer of fashion fabrics in West Africa, has opened its flagship store in Ghana.
Click here for photographs of the event.Located just at the entrance of the Accra Mall, the new retail channel is the first of its kind in Africa and will seek to give customers a unique, pleasant and memorable shopping experience.“Our goal is to create a store where customers can access a vast array of Vlisco products and at the same time receive professional services from well-trained store staff and special in-store consultants who would help you in choosing the right fabric and dress style that will match your taste, colour, frame and the occasion,” stated Erik Van der Staaij, Managing Director for the Vlisco Group in Ghana during the official opening of the store Thursday night at the Accra Mall.“We like every customer who goes through the Vlisco store experience to have a taste of the wisdom and sophistication of 160 years heritage. She or he must come out of the store feeling special,” he added.The Vlisco store has a number of unique features designed to showcase the brand’s quality of inspiration and creative works of art. The white backdrop and floors, according to officials of the company, are meant to bring to life the colourful and creative designs of Vlisco. “At the centre of the store is a stage where the spotlight will be on our latest product innovations, trends or collaborations,” Erik revealed.He said the company decided on this retail concept because “Vlisco is quite comfortable and confident of Ghana’s democratic environment which is encouraging business development.”Again, he noted that “Accra is one of the most bustling cosmopolitan cities in Africa where shopping malls are re-defining the retail landscape.”
