Vodafone Ghana Foundation, with support from the Human Resource Department of Vodafone Ghana and the cross-functional Vodafone Spirit Team, has presented hospital equipment and essential medical supplies to the Maamobi General Hospital in Accra.
Items donated include wheelchairs and Covid-19 Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) such as N95 respirators, bleach, anti-bacterial soap, hand sanitisers, surgical face masks, alcohol rub, and tissue.

Speaking at the event, the Human Resource Director, Hannah Ashiokai Akrong, said the gesture is part of the company’s efforts to mark Vodafone Spirit Day.
"On Vodafone Spirit Day, we reflect on the beliefs we stand for and the key behaviours that help us make our strategy and purpose a reality. We also connect with the communities in which we operate by embarking on socially impactful initiatives.
"We are excited to contribute these items to help the Maamobi Hospital deliver quality healthcare. We believe these items will help the hospital protect staff and patients who visit the hospital. "

On behalf of the management of Maamobi General Hospital, Dr Prince Emmanuel Daitey, Clinical Care Coordinator for the Hospital, thanked Vodafone Ghana for the equipment.
"We want to thank Vodafone Ghana for coming to our aid with these PPEs and wheelchairs. They came at an opportune time when we needed these items to help in rendering efficient service delivery.
"Many organisations focus on the larger hospitals when donating, but we are very grateful that you remembered us. We believe that this is the beginning of a deep relationship between us as you continue your good work in Ghana. "
