Vodafone Ghana has indicated that it is working to roll out 4G services for its customers in the not-too-distant future.
The Telecoms firm had earlier disclosed to JOYBUSINESS that, service was not an immediate priority, because it was working to address some internal issues. Some analysts were worried that, Vodafone may lose out of the Data market, after its competitor MTN secured right to deploy the service.
But speaking to JOYBUSINESS after paying a visit to the offices of MULTIMEDIA today, new Chief Executive, Yolanda Cuba said, they are working on other ways, to provide fast internet service to customers.

Vodafone customers will only have to wait a little longer to enjoy the 4G LTE services.
This, according to the Chief Executive Officer Yolanda Cuba is due to challenges regarding financing. She said, “we are still the fastest internet service provider in the country and will continue to hold that position.”
The courtesy call paid to Multimedia Ghana Limited by Vodafone Ghana was to officially introduce the new Chief Executive Officer to the managers of the company as part of measures to strengthen ties between the telecom giant and the media.
Speaking on corporate social responsibility, Vodafone CEO said the company is looking to expand its service into not just telecommunication but digital services to create digital inclusion.
Highlighting the launch of their new educational portal, the Instant School portal which is available to all students in Ghana, Ms Cuba explained “What the portal does is to provide instant textbooks to all students from primary to tertiary schools. Currently, we are trying to tailor it specifically to the Ghanaian curriculum so as to make it more effective, this is what we are trying to do as a company."
Communications Manager at Vodafone Ghana, Mr Gayheart Mensah, said the objectives of the two companies align perfectly which is why the relationship between them has flourished over the years.

He praised The Multimedia Group for its brand of journalism but urged the media managers to continue to demonstrate responsible journalism as the country heads to the polls in a few weeks' time.
Mr. Mensah, himself a trained journalist, noted it was crucial for businesses that the media play an active role in ensuring that this year's elections pass off incident-free.
Head of Sales at Vodafone, Agnes Essah, thanked Multimedia for their role in building the Vodafone brand and emphasized the need to strengthen the partnership between the two companies to push the agenda of digital inclusion.

Also speaking on the importance of social projects, Chief Operating for Radio and Interactive Media at The Multimedia Group, Mr. Ekyi Quarm said, “the core of what we do here in Multimedia is tied to impacting our community, trying to make our lives better.”

He expressed appreciation for the gesture made by Vodafone to partner with the media in social projects that encourage development.
“It is the right time to think up new things.”
He assured the delegation from Vodafone that Multimedia will support the telecom giant in its social projects to fuel development.
He also urged all journalists to set a good example for the rest of the country ahead of the upcoming elections.
