A Magistrate court at Goaso in the Asunafo North Municipality of Brong-Ahafo Region has remanded a 52- year -old farmer into prison custody for inflicting cutlass wounds on the husband of his girlfriend at Dadiesoaba, near Goaso.
Briefing the Media in Sunyani on Friday, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Christopher Tawiah, Regional Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), said on March 10, 2015, Blessing Yeboah, also a farmer, aged 22, reported at the Goaso Police Station with severe cutlass wounds on his head.
ASP Tawiah said the victim reported that he woke up on the day of the incident at about 0200hours and realised that his wife, Ajala Yola of 18 years was not beside him on their bed.
He said Yeboah in searching for the wife heard her voice in the room of Agyemang Prempeh (accused), who is also a tenant in the same house, adding that when the accused’s door was forcibly opened, Yola (wife) was found lying on bed with him.
ASP Tawiah said the accused became angry on seeing victim in his room and started exchanging words with him, saying that in the process the former drew a cutlass from under his bed and started inflicting wounds on the latter’s head but he managed to flee for his life.
He said some Police personnel at Goaso went to Dadiesoaba in the Asutifi South District of Brong-Ahafo Region to arrest Prempeh, and upon interrogation charged him with the offence of causing harm and attempting to kill.
