The Chief Executive Officer of the Volta River Authority (VRA), Mr. Kweku Awotwi says his outfit is looking to refurbish the burnt Dodi Princess.The recreational boat which fetches the country millions of cedis in tourism was involved in a fire incident last week with authorities announcing a suspension of its operations.There were fears the boat was damaged beyond repairs but Mr Awotwe told Joy News only minor equipment was destroyed.He said the burnt boat did not lose its most important part - the engine - explaining that proper audits would be conducted and a refurbishment done.Whilst the Authority looks to repair the damaged boat, Awotwe said subsidiaries of the Authority have ordered a new “mini-Dodi” to take about 100 revelers at a time.He said a bigger one which will take about six months to construct is being considered by the Authority. He added that recreational vessels and other boats have been ordered and will take about two or three months to be brought in.
