Supporters of National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Wa Municipality of the Upper West Region on Saturday took to the streets in Wa for a health walk organized by the regional youth wing of the Party.
Led by the deputy Upper West regional minister, Dr. Musheibu Mohammed Alfa, they walked through all principal streets in the Wa Township accompanied by brass band music.
They later converged at the Naa Sidiki Bomi II Park where they were addressed by some executive members of the Party.
Dr. Mohammed Alfa told the supporters that he was overwhelmed by their turn out and urged them to have faith in Government to fulfil its mandate.
‘‘The walk we have just ended has done a lot for our bodies. We have been able to burn down calories, which is good for us. It has also brought us together as members of the umbrella family.
“Apart from the health aspect, we have also sent shockwaves down the spine of our opponents from the other side of the political divide. I believe if we continue that way, it will give the party a resounding victory for President John Dramani Mahama to continue the better Ghana agenda,’’ he added.
The regional youth organizer of the Party, Nicodemus Dery, announced that the health walk will be featured on the Party’s itinerary and will run monthly. He thanked the supporters for coming out to take part in the exercise.
Deputy Upper West Regional Secretary of the Party, Alhaji Norah Danwaana announced that in the next few weeks, the Party will be back on the streets to showcase to the world, the achievements of the President Mahama-led administration.
He asked the supporters to leave all petty squabbles aside and remain united in order to enjoy the fruits of the Better Ghana Agenda.
