Warning shots have been fired in Upper West regional capital on Tuesday to fend off embattled youth of the National Democratic Congress who have vowed to scuttle a bidding process.
The youth claim they have been sidelined from all contracts despite playing crucial roles in bringing the party to power and vowed to scuttle a bidding process to open tenders for the building of school blocks in the region.
Four warning shots were fired by the bodyguard of the Upper West Regional Minister to deter the angry youth.
Joy FM’s Upper West Regional correspondent, Rafik Salami told Super Morning Show host Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah on Tuesday that the youth besieged the office of the Regional Coordinating council where the bidding process was to take place.
After the warning shots, the youth left the premises but promised to mobilize for a show-down.
