Ghanaian midfielder Lawrence Agyekum has attributed his development into a "complete" midfielder to his former club, West African Football Academy.
The youngster moved to the Sogakope-based club in 2017 and established himself as one of Ghana's current finest players in the game.
His performances for WAFA attracted a deal from Europe where he joined Salzburg - one of the most successful clubs in Austria, in 2021.
Although made three appearances for the first time, Lawrence featured prominently for the club's lower side - Liefering and contributed to their UEFA Youth League final spot as they lost to Benfica.
The 19-year-old sends gratitude to WAFA for moulding him into a good player.
"WAFA is a good developing Academy and helped me a lot in my development. When I was playing for my colts team, I realized there are certain things I lacked but when I got to WAFA, I was taught pressing, moment, time to pass, time to dribble, both on the pitch and off the pitch [classroom]," Lawrence said exclusively to JoySports.

WAFA, who finished third in the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League season, got relegated the following season. Coach Prosper Narteh Ogum and a couple of players including Lawrence had left to ply their trade elsewhere.
When asked about the club's relegation, Lawrence said: "I was very sad looking at their level and they dropping to the First Division, it was very appalling.
"I think the change of coaches, new players, youthful players coming in affected the team a little bit."
WAFA play the Division One League in Zone Two as they aim to return to the Ghanaian top-flight.
