Ghana winger Mubarak Wakaso is adamant the Black Stars team is not worried about bonus non-payment in their upcoming game against Rwanda at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday.
The Greek-based star was part of the first two training sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday also insisted that the most important thing for the team is the support of Ghanaians, calling on his countryfolk to back them.
The Minister of Youth and Sports, Nii Lante Vanderpuye, in an interview Graphic Sports revealed that the ministry is only ready to pay an amount of US$ 2,500 as winning bonus but the former Celtic midfielder believes that they are not worried about the issue of winning bonuses.
Speaking to the media, Wakso said, "We do not care about the bonus, all we need is for Ghanaians to support the team for us to win. The game against Rwanda is an important game for us.”
“You can see that we are all very focused and determined to do the job. All we want is for the nation to support us so we deliver for them against Rwanda.
“We want to maintain our momentum and continue our preparations for the World Cup Qualifier.”
Ghana lead Group H with 13 points with Rwanda and Mauritius in a distant second with 6 points.
