Residents in the West Akim Municipality of the Eastern Region have registered their displeasure over the Asamankese Youth for Development allegations against their Municipal Chief Executive, Seth Oduro Boadu.
This comes after the AYD accused the MCE of displaying arrogance, divide, failure in bringing development, avoiding party members among others in a press release on Wednesday 30th December.
Residents, including the Muslim community and traders in Asamankese say they are disappointed in the pressure group’s quest to deceive people.
A member of the Muslim community, Anyass Abdullah in refuting claims by the AYD noted that, Mr Oduro Boadu has not only become pillar, but the best ever MCE the NPP can boast off following his socioeconomic and political intervention , and developmental orientation to the benefit of the community.
He indicates that the MCE enviable track records and selfless involvement in championing President Akuffo Addo and the NPP have translated into the rejuvenation of the party in the constituency.
"Before God and man, l become surprised when l hear of such baseless claims against the MCE because since I joined the NPP in 1999 and knows of every leader who has worked and served this party and have also worked under every one of them.
But trust me this is the best MCE the NPP has had and remains down to everybody in the municipality and has aided in projecting the good image of the party. Had it not been him through his selfless leadership and hard work the NPP could have still won but with a slim margin. He personally took the campaign upon himself and marshalled all resources to cushion our parliamentary candidate to retaining the seat for our party.”
Some traders were in still in shock following the attempt by the Asamankese Youth for Development to drag the name of the MCE in the mud.
According to them, the MCE will go in the history books as the best following his unprecedented development and good human relation.
For them, any attempt to deny another tenure of office would gravely affect the fortunes of the NPP in West Akim.
"We the market women know the good works of the MCE. Look at Asamankese had it not been this MCE the NPP could not boast of anything in the town. Almost all projects in the town were done by the NDC.
But under the tenure of Mr Boadu that NPP can also boast of something. He has given face lift to the town by spreading project in every community .Our president should make any mistake of even attempting not to reappoint him.”
