The Organized Women Co-operative Society at Akim Asamama in the Atiwa District has appealed to the district assembly to assist the group to obtain financial assistance from the Atiwa Rural Bank to expand their commercial activities.
Madam Mary Boadiwaa, the Women's Organizer of the society said that lack of financing was impacting negatively on their operations.
She said the town was noted for commercial and farming activities, adding that, a little push could help the community to play a proper role in the field of commerce.
Madam Boadiwaa expressed the hope that the district assembly would assist them to get enough funds to be able to "break the vicious circle of poverty" and play useful roles in the community.
She gave the assurance that the women would work hard to pay back any loan that would be granted them.
