The Police have arrested National Democratic Congres financier Alfred Woyome, and is being held at the Police Headquarters in Accra.Joy News reporter Evans Mensah reporting from the Police Headquarters said scores of NDC supporters have besieged the police fortress and demanding the immediate release of Woyome. At least three of them, all women, have been arrested for rowdy behaviour.Castle sources which confirmed the arrest to Joy News said it was in connection with the ongoing financial scandal involving the payment of some GHS58 million in judgement debt to him.Woyome only yesterday resigned his chairmanship of the National Board for Small Scale Industries (NBBSI) to allow for investigations into the matter.The Economic and Organised Crimes Office on Thursday presented an interim report of investigations it conducted on the matter to President Mills, indicting Woyome of wrongfully suing the state when he had no basis whatsoever to do so.More soon
