Businessman Alfred Agbesi Woyome has denied media reports suggesting that, he intends to use the courts to foil a new appointment to MP for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablawa by President John Mahama.
Mr. Kwame Tawiah, an aide to Mr. Woyome was on Wednesday reported to have told Accra-based Radio XYZ, Mr. Woyome plans to use legal means to ensure that no body connected to the controversial 51 million Ghana cedis judgment debt saga, is appointed in the Mahama administration.
Mr. Tawiah according to reports claimed, Mr. Woyome will openly protest against any new appointments offered to “the likes of” immediate-past Deputy Information Minister, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, as well as others who served in the Mills administration.
However, Mr. Woyome’s Spokesperson, Seth Dogbey in an interview with Joy News, has distanced the Office of the Businessman from the report.
“The office has not commented on any such issues, and is not against any appointment to persons who served in the Mills Administration. We would also not take legal action should anyone be appointed”.
“Our office also did not warn President Mahama in the last press encounter. What was said, was an advice exercised by a citizen of this country to the President; that people who are connected to the fabrications of allegations and those involved in the so called ‘arrest’, leading to the numerous cases in the courts should not be considered now for appointment until after the determination of the cases, which may establish their culpability or otherwise”.
