Real Madrid Castilla manager Zinedine Zidane is headed to Munich to shadow former Barcelona and current Bayern manager Pep Guardiola, as reported by Mundo Deportivo.
Zidane is currently the manager of Segunda B side Real Madrid Castilla and is seen as the heir apparent to Carlo Ancelotti as the future first team manager.
However, the French footballing legend has struggled in his first season as head coach, after spending last season as Ancelotti's assistant and after a four-game losing streak, Zidane is keen to take advantage of the international break and go to the fountain of knowledge to improve his methods.
That fountain of footballing knowledge is none other than his former arch-rival, former Barcelona and current Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola, who will play host to Zidane as the World Cup winner shadows the Catalan coach and learns his various coaching methods.
Zidane will be joined by his former French national teammates, Claude Makelele and current Girondins coach Willy Sagnol, who are all in the process of getting their UEFA Level 3 Coaching Licences.
While this is the first time Zidane has shadowed Guardiola, it is not the first time shadowing a legendary coach as he previously spent several days with Marcelo Bielsa at Marseille this past December, to learn the Argentine's notoriously rigorous training methods.
