After three years the dust has finally settled as the Ghana Premier League is set to have a headline sponsor.
First Capital Plus Bank surprised termination of its contract with the Ghana Football Association in 2015 left the nation’s topflight without a major sponsor. And despite the presence of broadcast sponsors, clubs have often complained.
But that is set to change because Chief Executive Officer of Zylofon Media Nana Appiah Mensah has stepped in.
The business mogul has announced that his outfit will sponsor the league. The owner of Division One League side Star Madrid made this known when he paid a surprise visit to Ghana U20 and U17 sides at their camping base in Prampram.
"Nana Appiah Mensah says I should inform you that Zylofon Media will be sponsoring the Ghana Premier League," the spokesman of Mr Mensah said.

The announcement was widely celebrated, led by GFA boss Kwesi Nyantakyi.
