Two persons have been shot and killed in a robbery attack on the Walewale-Nalerigu highway.
The incident occurred at Tinkaya, a small farming community on the highway, where the victims were shot by robbers who had blocked the road and were robbing a truck vehicle.
Eyewitnesses told JoyNews the attack happened at about 11 am and was carried out by two armed men on a motorbike.
They revealed that one of the victims died instantly and the other was rushed to the Walewale hospital and subsequently to the Tamale Teaching Hospital but died on admission.
The incident has led to fears among residents of the community sparking a call for enhanced security in the area.
