Sam George, Minister of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, has commended the Cyber Security Authority (CSA) for a recent operation that led to the arrest of 32 Nigerians involved in a romance scam syndicate in Kasoa Tuba.

The minister on X described the operation as “another massive blow…against cybercrime in Ghana,” noting the collaboration between the CSA and the National Security apparatus.
“The team at @CSAGhana continues to do an excellent job. We will support their efforts to make Ghana an unattractive destination for cybercrimes,” Sam George posted.
According to sources familiar with the operation, the arrested individuals were part of a well-organised romance scam network, which reportedly defrauded victims across multiple countries by exploiting emotional relationships online.

The joint raid is part of a broader government crackdown aimed at curbing cybercrime, which has surged in Ghana in recent years.
Cybercrime, including romance scams, identity theft, and financial fraud, has increasingly affected both local and international victims, prompting heightened interventions from the CSA, the police, and national security agencies.

Officials say investigations are ongoing, and further arrests may follow as authorities seek to dismantle other networks operating within the country.
