Four Nigerian women arrested for trafficking 46 girls into Ghana to engage in prostitution will be put before court today.
The girls who were deceived they would be working in restaurants tell Joy News they have been forced to spend months in prostitution.
They were rescued by anti human trafficking unit of the Ashanti region Police following a tip-off by a Christian worker Christian Ayensu.
They are currently being counseled by the department of social welfare before they are integrated into their families in Nigeria.
DSP Sarah Aba Afari who led the rescue mission told Joy News search is on for more offenders.
She said her team of police men will liaise with the Social Welfare Department to counsel the victims and help them rediscover themselves whilst efforts are made to reunite them with their families.
Deputy Minister for Women and Children Affairs Hajia Hawawu Gariba Boya has admitted Ghana is fast becoming noted as a destination for human trafficking.
She however maintains that Ghana was collaborating with other countries to reverse the situation.
