A forty year old man named Saluo Tongoli has been lynched at Waali Sombi in the Wa municipality of the Upper West Region for allegedly stealing a goat.
His alleged accomplice whose name was given as Bashiru Salia was also beaten to pulp and left unconscious.
He was subsequently rushed to the Wa regional hospital.
DSP Stephen Tetteh who is Wa Municipal Police Commander said the suspects went to Wa Songbo to allegedly steal the goat.
They were attacked by some members of the community, he stated.
According to him, the deceased person was identified as a "known criminal."
He said Bashiru Salia is currently on admission under police guard.
