Kumasi City Mayor Samuel Sarpong joined hundreds of personnel from corporate establishments in the Garden City for the 5th edition of the ‘Luv Fm Fitness Walk’.
The event was part of the radio station’s health package to support the physical and mental well-being of staff from participating institutions and other individuals in the metropolis.
It is fast becoming a major platform for staff of corporate institutions to exercise, socialize and network for enhanced business productivity.
The aerobic session which began and climaxed the fitness walk was perhaps the most exciting aspect of the health package.
Participants walked several kilometers under a competitive environment amidst motivating tunes from the brass band. The fun of the fitness walk was the diverse strategies adopted by patrons to get to the finished line.
The 5th edition of the health event attracted special groups like SOS Ghana, old folks of University Hall (Katanga) and A ROCHA, KNUST.
The Azonto and Salsa moves which characterized the aerobics, the taekwondo lessons and hot kenkey party spiced up the exercise.
City Mayor Samuel Sarpong, who has consistently patronized the exercise as a lead walker, emphasized the need for corporate Kumasi to care a great deal about the health of the workforce.
Some patrons who spoke to Luv News called for the regularization of the event, emphasizing its importance as a preventive medicine.
The Fitness Walk was sponsored by Santinos Fine Meats and Sausages Limited.
