One of Ghana's finest Corporate Relations and Strategic Communications experts, Pamela Djamson-Tettey has left Gold Fields Ghana.
She hasn’t joined any company yet but is “looking for options”.
Pamela Tettey joined Gold Fields in 2010 after her eight-year service to Guinness Ghana Breweries Ltd (GGBL).
Prior to joining GGBL, she was the Senior Public Affairs and Investor Relations Officer at the then Ashanti Goldfields Ltd from 1995 to 2001.
In 2001 she joined GGBL to head the company's first External Affairs department. She has been credited for structuring the corporate relations outfit at GGBL in 2001. She was also the first woman on the Board of the company, a role which she held throughout her tenure as Executive Director.
Mrs Djamson-Tettey is also credited for numerous developments at GGBL including her strategic role in the transaction team that negotiated the acquisition of Ghana Breweries Ltd by Guinness Ghana (Diageo) and the successful transition of the company into a new entity.
Her passion for community development and the tailoring of appropriate and specific corporate social responsibility interventions is well known and highly respected in corporate Ghana. For instance, she initiated a number of key strategic community projects that have impacted immensely on the socio economic development landscape of the country.
Some of these initiatives include the Sorghum Value Chain Project, which has seen brewing companies in Ghana adopting the module as the way forward in the usage and support of local raw materials in the preparation of their products; the Osei-Tutu ICT College at Kumasi, and the provision of potable water foo approximately 350,000 Ghanaians.
It is in the area of Public Policy Management that Mrs Djamson-Tettey's expertise is highly commendable. Among several successes she has chalked-up in this area was her role in leading the GGBL team to achieve a regime shift in the excise duty on alcoholic beverages in 2007.
The beverage producer recognized her for preparing the “solid foundation” that propelled the company to become Ghana's number 3 company in the Club 100 at the time of her departure in 2009.
She also negotiated several Corporate Headline sponsorship deals with the Black stars from 2001 while at GGBL, and maintained this support in her capacity as Head of Corporate Affairs at Gold Fields Ghana, previous Headline Sponsors of the Black Stars of Ghana.
