The Police Intelligence and Professional Standards Bureau (PIPS) says its inability to conclude investigations into the Mallata shooting incident is due to the reluctance of eye witnesses to provide information.The police last month shot three men suspected to be armed robbers at Mallata in Accra but the act has been condemned by Human Rights activists and eye witnesses who claim the men were unarmed.The director general of PIPS, COP James Oppong Boanuh told Joy News information from eye witnesses is needed to speed up investigations.He also assured eye witnesses who are willing to provide information will have their identity protection.“…We still need some more witnesses to give us what they saw, so we will appeal to people, everybody who has any knowledge of the matter should come forward and give us that information.“We will treat his identity as confidential…” COP James Oppong assured.
