The Greater Accra region has for the first time in many months overtaken Central region as the region with the highest rate of inflation. This was revealed in the latest inflation figures released by the Ghana Statistical Service for the month of April. The Greater Accra region recorded an inflation rate of 12.6 percent followed by the Ashanti region with 10.7 percent. Central Region recorded 8.6 percent inflation rate. This means Greater Accra region recorded the highest rate of increase in the general price of goods and services in April compared to the same period last year. Acting Deputy Government Statistician in charge of Technical Support, Baah Wadieh told Joy Business inflation for food in the Greater Accra was the highest in the country, which affected the rate.
