Government will later this week spell out a number of carefully designed measures aimed at reducing the hurdles revenue collection agencies go through in collecting revenue accruing to government.
This is expected to tie into plans by government to up revenue mobilization this year.
Details of the plans are as yet unclear.
But Information and Media Relations Minister, Mahama Ayariga in his Daily Briefing Monday morning at the Flagstaff House said cabinet adopted the plan last week in its special session on the economy.
“The frustrations and challenges have been discussed, and the measures that would be implemented this time will adequately deal with these issues.”
Touching on sustainability, the minister noted the need for all to focus on the the issue “so that we don’t start on a very high steam and then we lose momentum later on and relapse into what it used to be... we should keep our eyes on the ball, and that the pressure should be sustained and and the effort should be sustained.”
