The two teams are back on the same points with two matches left to end the 2012/2013 Glo premier league
Kumasi Asante Kotoko beat Kpando Heart of Lions 2-1 to move to the summit of the table. The Porcupine Warriors needed the three points badly to aid them in their title defence.
Kofi Nti Boakye first scored for Kotoko but Kwaku Andoh pulled one back for Lions who are in a tight corner to avoid relegation. But Seidu Bancey produced the winning goal as Kotoko left Kpando with the three valuable points. The Kumasi based club have now amassed 50 points.
Meanwhile, another title contender, Berekum Chelsea failed to win their week 28 match in order to maintain their two-point gap. They drew 1-1 with Berekum Arsenal as they now share the top spot with Kotoko.
Kotoko are placed first on the table because they have a better goal difference since the head-to-head rule cannot separate them.
However, if both teams end up winning their last two matches, the organizers of the league will have to organize a special play-off to determine the winners of the league.
Elsewhere, Mahatma Otoo extended his goal tally to 17 goals after scoring the only goal in Hearts of Oak’s 1-0 win over Ebusua Dwarfs.
Ashantigold beat Liberty Professionals 2-0 while Aduana Stars Fc came from a goal down to defeat RTU 2-1. Hearts, Dwarfs, Ashgold and Aduana are all fighting for a place in the top four.
The match between Medeama Sc and Wa All Stars was rained off.
