Airtel wins twice at Ghana Telecom Awards

Airtel Ghana has won two awards at the third MobileWorld Ghana Telecom Awards, which recognized telcos, ICT industry players and individuals in the sector for their excellence in 2012. Airtel won Best Customer Care of the Year and Best Mobile Broadband Service of the Year. The first award is in recognition of Airtel’s dedication to a customer-centric approach in growing its subscriber base. The second award is for Airtel Ghana’s leadership in the mobile broadband sector having upgraded from 3.5G to 3.75G High Speed Pocket Access (HSPA+) network, making Airtel the Mobile Network Operator in Ghana with the most advanced network in the country. Commenting on the awards, the Managing Director of Airtel Ghana, Philip Sowah said: “This is fantastic news, great job team. We are focused on remaining very competitive in the area of customer care and providing products and services that address the different needs of our various customers and make their experience on the network even better. These awards are testaments that the strategies we have put in place are paying off”. Philip Sowah said: “We will continue to remain focused in augmenting our products and services to accommodate our customers, who expect more and in fact, deserve more from their communications services provider” he added. Head of Corporate Communications and External Affairs, Donald Gwira who led a team from Airtel to pick the awards thanked all its customers for believing in the Airtel brand and patronizing its products and services. “We will continue to invest in the network, listen to our customers whose feedback spurs us on to do better. To all our valued customers, we dedicate these awards to you,” he said.
