Arsenal youth forward Zak Ansah has lent his support to the Black Satellites to win the 2013 FIFA U20 World Cup despite failing to make the squad.
Ansah missed the cut because he was only returning to fitness after suffering an injury playing for Arsenal's youth side early this year.
The 19 year old who only returned to active training with the Satellites after recuperating from a medial ligament tear could not impress the technical team.
In an interview with Joy sports, Zak expressed his disappointments but remains hopeful of the team winning the tournament.
"Of course I’m disappointed, even now I’m disappointed but it is part of football and I’m just going back to work hard and up my game so I can be called again," said Ansah
"I'm a team player and even though I was not able to make the trip to Italy I still want the boys to go there and be the champions of the world.
"As soon as the coach told me I said thank you very much for the opportunity and I hope you bring back the cup to Ghana."
Ansah together with Athletico Madrid’s Thomas Partey, SC Medeama Jacob Apau, Tema Youth midfielder Derrick Mensah as well as Anthony Manison of Rayo Vallecano were left out of the squad.
The Black Satellites are currently in Italy preparing for the FIFA World Youth Championship.
