The exhilarating but enhanced safety features of the new range of 2013 E-Class from Mercedes-Benz have been highlighted at a ceremony which officially outdoored the vehicle onto the Ghanaian market.
Leading the presentation of the 2013 Mercedes-Benz E-Class, Mr. Frances Larbi-Odame, Silver Star Auto’s Sales Manager in Charge of Saloon cars, said the Mercedes-Benz Intelligent Drive feature of the car has firmed up its status as a sector leader in safety features.
“Highlights of the Intelligent Drive that promotes safety includes: Collision Prevention Assist, Driver Assistance Package such as the Digitronic Plus with Steer Control that helps the driver to maintain a desired distance behind the vehicle in front and an Active Lane Keeping Assist that monitors lane markings and help the driver to stay safely in his lane” Mr Larbi-Odame stated.
Another safety feature, according to Mr. Larbi-Odame, is the Stereoscopic 360 degree camera which consists of a number of close range camera systems that monitors the car’s surroundings to prevent collisions during parking or slow maneuvering.
The vehicle, according to the dealers, also comes in two front end designs which include an aggressively styled grille with a large central star that appeal to the sportily inclined and Avangarde driver.
But the car’s traditional Mercedes-Benz 3-pointed star sitting in its familiar place on the bonnet is sure to excite the eyes.
There is also an elegant restyling of the car’s headlamps, a prominent feature of the new external design. “The four eyed headlamp is now replaced by a one-piece design which houses all lighting functions hence a closer look at the new headlamp reveals a clever use of LED lights to retain the four eyed look” the dealers noted.
Mr. Larbi-Odame disclosed that the wide range of engines available with the E-Class including the nine variants of diesel engines that offer maximum pulling power, smooth running, lower fuel consumption and lower emissions. “A characteristic that were for a long time considered impossible in diesel engine technology”, he added.
“It also comes with eleven petrol engines with a highly developed efficiency and therefore poses more agility and motoring pleasure coupled with low fuel consumption plus a lesser burden on the environment”, said Larbi-Odame.
The company also seized the occasion to launch the company’s new logo which was designed by students of Radford University.
