The Ghana Statistical Service is now looking at releasing the rebased inflation rates to next Wednesday.
The service was expected to release the inflation figures for January to May today.
It however had to postpone it because of challenges in the process of gathering data from the field.
This is the third consecutive time the Ghana Statistical Service has failed to release the figures citing some difficulties.
Acting government statistician, Philomena Nyarko tells Joy Business they are optimistic of releasing the figures next week Wednesday.
“We have teams still trying hard to make sure that it is done. Some of the filled returns came in late,” she explained.
Meanwhile inflation for the month of May has gone up marginally.
The rate stood at 10.9 percent, 3 percentage points up from April figure.
The rate is the highest since May 2010.
Philomena Nyarko noted: “The major drivers, I will say, were clothing and footwear”.
The Acting Government statistician predicted that the outlook for inflation will be good in July, August as the country expects bumper harvest.
