It should soon be possible for you to sit behind your computer and transfer money from your bank account to a third party in real time.
This would be if banks accept a proposal to integrate their internet portals to the clearing house at Ghana Interbank Payment and Settlement Systems (GhIPSS). GhIPSS has commenced talks with the banks to make this initiative a reality.
Most people have to be physically present in banking halls to effect interbank transfers, but with this initiative, transfers will become faster via internet banking.
Officials are hoping that more people will consequently be encouraged to go online to transact banking business instead of trouping to banking halls.
