Former Gender and Social Protection minister Nana Oye Lithur has confirmed she is being investigated by the Special Prosecutor, Martin Amidu.
The former minister is part of a list of 26 cases that have piqued the interest of the Office of Special Prosecutor.
Although Board chair of the Office of the Special Prosecutor has called for the list to be ignored, the former Gender and Social Protection Minister has confirmed she is being investigated on allegations of misappropriation.
There is also a case of money laundering involving properties in Ghana and South Africa. The Nana Oye Lithur allegation is listed as the second in a list of 26 cases pending before the Office of the Special Prosecutor.

The former minister according to the list is yet to respond to the allegations.
“They should investigate”, the lawyer and human rights activist said on the Joy FM Super Morning Show Wednesday, before insisting “I will have my day in court.”
She declined to give details of the investigations.
The Special Prosecutor, Martin Amidu, has so far filed one case in court among the 25 cases which have piqued his interest.
The office, which is the President’s promised solution to political graft, was created by law in 2018.
The list also includes opposition figures as high profile as former President John Mahama and government appointees under the Akufo-Addo administration such as Board Chair of the Ghana National Petroleum Company and national chairman of the governing NPP Freddie Blay.
