Publishers and Organisers of the Ghana Corporate Social Responsibility Diary and Awards have revealed that this year’s edition of the Awards is targeted at unveiling the top 30 socially-responsible companies in Ghana. The Ghana CSR Diary & Awards is a special yearly combination of a not-for-sale CSR magazine and a CSR awards ceremony to reward companies that implement laudable social intervention projects.
In a statement, the Lead Project Manager for the Ghana CSR Diary & Awards, Mr. Kojo Williams explained that; ‘As Ghana’s leading voice in CSR advocacy and reportage, we are happy that the concept of CSR is attracting a lot of attention from stakeholders. The Ministry of Trade and Industry’s initiative to formulate a comprehensive CSR policy, is a laudable response to our advocacy efforts and that of other stakeholders. In past three years, we have created immense publicity about CSR using the media and also engaging companies on individual basis.’
He intimated further; ‘This year, the Ghana CSR Diary & Awards will identify Ghana’s top 30 socially-responsible companies and award them in full media glare. Their CSR activities will also be published in the Ghana CSR Diary magazine and be distributed freely to the media, government agencies, development partners, selected schools of higher learning, business associations, NGOs, and many more.’
Registration is open to all companies registered in Ghana and they can submit enquiries or their CSR activities implemented in 2012/13 to csrdiary@gmail.com for review and publication as part of the top 30 socially-responsible companies list in the 2013 edition of the Ghana CSR Diary magazine. Since 2011, more than 15,000 free copies of the magazine has been published and distributed across the country and beyond.
The Ghana CSR Diary and Awards initiative was formulated by Integriti Media and launched in 2011 by the former Minister for Trade and Industry, Hon. Hanna Tetteh and supported by the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI), the Ghana Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI), the Japan International Cooperation Agency and many media organizations across the country. Many socially-responsible large and small companies such as Guinness Ghana, Stanbic Bank, Vodafone, Barclays Bank, Goldman Capital, Beige Capital, Ghandour, Mohinani Group, Tigo, Seatec Telecom, PMMC, Wire Weaving Industries, Interplast and many others have been recognized in previous editions of the Ghana CSR Diary & Awards.
