The Black Stars have touched down in Kumasi, ahead of Friday's epic Brazil 2014 World Cup qualifier against the Chipolopolos of Zambia.
The Black Stars touched down at exactly 11:30am Wednesday, aboard an Antrak Air flight.
Hundreds of football fans had besieged the Kumasi Airport to give a rousing welcome to the team amidst drumming and dancing. The charged atmosphere also saw the fans dance the traditional "Lolo" with "very loud Jama songs" accompanying it, Myjoyonline.com's Nathan Gadugah reported.
They urged the Stars on to victory and give Ghana a third straight qualification to the biggest tournament on the world's calender.
The crowd followed the players to the Kumasi Children's Home where the team made donations of food items and toiletries to the Home.
Ghana occupies the summit of the table with a point better than Zambia and needs a point from the game to qualify to final round of qualification. An unlikely defeat will however see Zambia progress to the next stage of the qualifying series.
Ghana first qualified for the tournament in Germany 2006, then in South Africa 2010 and are determined to make history by securing qualification to Brazil 2014.
