The 2-0 loss suffered by Malawi to Nigeria has been hit with fresh pains as players and officials of the Flames were involved in a car accident on return from the Calabar trip.
Malawi Flames’ members, including four players, suffered minor injuries when a bus they were travelling in on return from a World Cup qualifier in Nigeria was involved in an accident on Monday afternoon
Escape
Winger Douglas Chirambo, captain James Sangala, midfielder Chimango Kaira, substitute goalkeeper Owen Chaima, team doctor Levi Mwale and team manager Aubrey Nankhuni, among others, escaped with minors injuries in Dedza District, some 50 kilometres from the capital, Lilongwe.
The Flames members had touched down in Lilongwe en route to Blantyre from Nigeria, where they lost 2-0 to the Super Eagles, when the Sports Council bus they were travelling in veered off the road around Bembeke Stage.
