A two year old girl has been confirmed dead in Monday's downpour at Ahwiaa in the Kwabre East district of the Ashanti region.
The girl is reported to have fallen into a big drin whilst trying to find a place of safety.
Her six-year-old brother who tried rescuing her also got injured in the process.
Security personnel had to be called in to rescue children trapped in their homes in some communities in different parts of the country.
NADMO Officials say they are taking steps to deal with the aftermath of flooding in the region.
Luv FM’s Erastus Asare Donkor reports that the girl was yet to be identified but the brother is receiving treatment at the hospital.
Meanwhile, authorities at Kwabre East district say they are going to support residents with cements to construct drains from their homes to a converging point.
