The New Juaben municipality has been thrown into a state of shock following a suicide by a 45-year-old man due to financial hardships.
Neighbors and family members recall that, prior to the incident, the deceased, Victor Dagadu, has been complaining of economic difficulties and had threatened on several occasions to take his own life.
Joy News' Eastern Regional Correspondent, Kofi Siaw, said family members saw him struggling while hanging on the rope he used to hang himself, but their efforts to rescue him were not successful.
Deputy Eastern Regional Police Public Relations Officer, Sergeant Gideon Boateng, confirmed the incident.
He told Joy News the body has been sent to the Police hospital for autopsy.
He explained that the Police heard about the incident after the Regional Police Commander received news of the incident from local radio station in the area.
Sergeant Gideon Boateng said they proceeded to the residence of the man and found him hanging.
