Give Me Hope Foundation, a non-profit organization, has successfully sought justice for a 19-year-old boy sentenced to serve three years in prison after his family failed to pay a fine of ¢3000.The suspect was found guilty of stealing his boss' Infinix phone, which he sold after his boss’ refusal to pay his salary. The teenager told the court that he lost his father at a younger age and has been on the street trying to eke out a living for survival.According to him, the refusal of his boss to pay his salary for two months made life unbearable for him leading to his action.
Founder of Give Me Hope Foundation, Wisdom Dordoe, was informed about the incident, he paid the ¢3000 fine and worked to secure the release of the teenager from prison without his knowledge. The Foundation has also promised to help the convict to learn a trade to build a bright future for himself. In a related development, Mr Dordoe disclosed that they are currently working on taking 100 children from the slums back to school with scholarships in when schools reopen this month. They are also planning a mega outreach program in which there will be a health screening, clothes donation and feeding over 1000 less privilege at Ankaful in Cape Coast prior to Christmas. “We are grateful to everybody who helped us to make this happen and continue to make great impact in people’s lives. We call on individuals, corporate entities and philanthropist to come on board so we make this change together,” Mr Dordoe added.
