Asante Kotoko midfielder Richard Mpong believes the Ghanaian champions need to win the two remaining matches to end the first half of the Ghana Premier League.
The Porcupine Warriors are on a two-game winning streak without conceding a goal and are on top of the Ghana Premier League ladder with 30 points from 13 games.
The offensive midfielder believes the defending champions are on top form and have the capacity to win their final two games of the first round.
"It has been good so far but I think the matches left are very important. They are the last games in the first round so we have to do everything possible to win them to maintain our lead,” Mpong said.
"We have already declared that Baba Yara is a no go area for visiting teams this season and nobody can break our resolve. King Faisal dared us three weeks ago and they fell heavily. Medeama should try and they will also fall."
Asante Kotoko will play host to Medeama SC on Sunday, December 8 before travelling to Cape Coast to lock horns with Dwarfs on 15th December.
