Asante Kotoko recovered from a tortuous start to draw 2-2 with Ebusua Dwarfs on the final day of the first half of the Ghana Premier League season.
The champions were 2-0 down within the first 15 minutes of the game against the Mysterious side who were backed by their vociferous home fans in Cape Coast.
Dwarfs jumped into a 10th minute lead through Frederick Boateng to reward Rashid Iddi’s side with their impressive start to the game.
Richard Gadze then made it 2-0 two minutes later in what appeared to be the beginning of a rout in Cape Coast.
Striker Abdul Aziz Yusif got a goal back to edge Kotoko back into the game 10 minutes after their rocky start.
The resurgent Kotoko side kept piling the pressure for the equaliser which never came as the game headed into recess with Dwarfs holding onto their slim lead.
The Porcupine Warriors started the second period much like they ended the first and almost got their rewarded with an impressive long range strike from midfielder Prince Baffoe.
The ex Nania star’s pile driver however missed the target by inches much to the relief of the home fans.
The exciting game produced end to end stuff as each side went at each other in search of goals.
Kotoko however emerged luckier than the two as in-form striker Seidu Bansey struck in the 62nd minute to even the scores.
The game struggled thereafter to regain its frantic tempo at the start until the dying minutes when both sides pressed for the win.
It was too little too late for both sides as the game ground to an exciting 2-2 draw in Cape Coast.
