Ex Ghana star Yaw Preko has tipped striker Ebenezer Assifuah to swoop CAF’s Most promising Talent Award.
The former Liberty Professionals striker is the only Ghanaian representative in any of the award categories at this year’s event.
Assifuah who now plays for Swiss side, Sion faces competition from Saleh Gomaa of Egypt and Nigeria's Kelechi Iheanacho.
The young striker won the Golden boot trophy at the 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Turkey and helped the Black Satellites finish third-place after scoring six goals in seven matches.
Preko, who was the assistant coach for the Black Satellites at the tournament believes Assifuah stands a greater chance of winning the award.
“With the little time I had with him at the African Youth Championship in Algeria and the World Cup in Turkey I believe he can win this award,” he told Joy sports.
“When we got to the World Cup he proved to the whole world that he has ambitions of becoming a great player and where he is now he is playing very well so for me I believe he can win this award.”
