Local Black Stars Midfielder Asiedu Atobrah says they must step up their game in Friday’s second Group C game against Libya at the Mangaung Free State stadium in Bloemfotein.
Ghana is second in Group C with three points after a 1-0 victory over Congo in the opening game on Monday.
Despite the victory, Coach Maxwell Konadu and his team have been reflecting on their scrappy victory and believe they must improve to get a good result against the Libyans who won their opening game 2-0 against tournament favourites Ethiopia.
Atobrah who plays for New Edubiase says they have to do more despite winning their first game.
“So far the tournament has been good because we have won our first match and that is the most important thing,”
“Football is all about goal scoring and winning your games so whether you play good or bad football what matters is winning at the end but we have realized our performance was down in the first game so we have to step up our game.
“This is a very tough competition and we need to improve on our performances and every team is hoping to win so we need to play according to the coach’s instruction so we can beat Libya”
“Libya is a very tough side but we are also tough so i know we will beat them.”
