The sudden demise of our beloved brother, friend and a great son of African which occurred on Saturday,18th January 2014 has been a big shock to us, especially Ghanaian residents in the UK.
We could not believe our ears when close friends and family members broke the news of his passing way.
Komla will be remembered for his hard work, commitment to duty and his professionalism. His outstanding performance as a broadcaster with Joy FM in Ghana and also with BBC here in the UK has been a shining example for Ghanaian journalists in particular and Ghanaians as a whole.
He rose above all odds, remained focused and kept on succeeding at every stage in his carrier. This earned him journalist of the year award in Ghana and a role model to most journalists in Africa.
Komla strived for excellence at every opportunity he encountered in his carrier in broadcasting and cannot be underestimated. His outstanding performance as a journalist earned him a role model most journalists in Ghana and Africa wanted to emulate.
He used every opportunity that came his way to promote Ghana and Africa. This high sense of patriotism is a great lesson to all Ghanaians to emulate. He raised the flag of Africa and Ghana in particular. His unannounced death has been a great lost to Ghana and Africa as a whole.
On behalf of Ghanaian residents in the UK and members of NDC UK and Ireland Chapter, I wish to express my deepest condolences to his wife, children and the entire family.
