The labour ward of the Tema General Hospital (TGH) saw the delivery of sixteen babies on New Year's Day.
The babies were made up of nine females and seven males, Dr Charity Sarpong, Director of TGH told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) on Wednesday.
Dr Sarpong said all the babies including two sets of twins and their mothers were doing well adding that four males and three females were born through Caesarean section and the rest were normal deliveries.
He further stated that the first delivery, which was a male, occurred at 12:22 hours weighing of 3.7 kilos.
Dr Sarpong said with the exception of those delivered through Caesarean section, the rest had been discharged at the time of the visit.
