Members of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana branch at Nsawam circuit at the weekend donated various items to the Nsawam government Hospital.
The items were loaves of bread, sugar, bags of rice, soap, calico, biscuits, cooking oil, blankets and plastic chairs valued at six million cedis.
Presenting the items, Rev. Dr J.O.Y. Mante, Presbytery Chairman of the Ghana Presbyterian Church said the items were the Church's contribution towards the up-keep of the patients of the hospital, especially the children.
Rev Dr. Mante said it was time the churches went to the orphanages and institutions, especially the hospitals to support them, either in cash or in kind.
Mr Ofosu Addo, Reverend Minister in- charge of the Nsawam branch of the Presbyterian Church said plans were afoot to adopt the Children's Ward of the hospital and prayers would be said every week accompanied by presentation of gifts.
Mrs. Ernestina Anum, Matron, who received the items on behalf of the hospital expressed appreciation and appealed to other churches and organizations to emulate the Presby Church.Source: GNA
