Africa Origin Travel and Tours has donated 3,500 dollars to the National Under-19 team, the Black Princesses, for qualifying to the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) Under-19 tournament in Canada
The donation was in fulfillment of a pledge made to the team before the last qualifier against Equitorial Guinea last Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The Travel and Tours Company also donated a 42inch LED Television to the team for their camping at Prampram.
Samson Deen, Managing Director of Africa Origin Travel and Tours said the donation was to show appreciation to the team for making the nation proud with the hard fought qualification.
He urged the players to remain focused and work hard towards successful participation in the competition.
“Canada is a land of opportunities, if you work hard and perform well, you stand the chance of securing scholarship from the various educational institutions in the country.
You must improve upon what your colleagues did at the last championship by winning the trophy, and this will also open ways for you in future.” He stated.
Osei Tutu Agyemang, Chairman of Black Princesses Management Committee, expressed appreciation to the company for supporting the team before and after the match
He said the donation was a morale booster for the playing body to continue to work hard to make meaningful impact at the tournament.
“We are not going to compete and tour the Canada, but we are going for the trophy”. He added.
The Black Princesses defeated Equatorial Guinea 4-3 on penalties, after the two legs ended one all on aggregate.
