Ten couples will battle it out this Sunday to win Joy FM’s maiden couple’s ‘Twin Up’ contest which comes off at the Labadi Beach Hotel.
The Twin Up campaign, a brainchild of Joy FM’s award-winning family programme, Home Affairs in partnership with Pearls Executive Network was launched to help foster strong ties and friendship amongst couples.
Interested couples were supposed to take photos wearing matching clothes made from African fabrics and share it on social media with the hashtag (TwinUpGh).
Launched on October 2, the contest received an overwhelming response until entries closed on October 26.
On November 1, at the Labadi Beach Hotel, the host of Home Affairs, Edem Knight–Tay who is also the project lead together with her team had the herculean task of sifting through the hundreds of entries to select the top 10 couples.
The selections were based on a number of engagements their photos accumulated, presentation style and story in the photo.
The couples will be involved in some fun activities where they will accumulate points. The couple with the most points in addition to the most engagements on social media will be adjudged the Twin Up couple of the year.
What is their package? The couple gets a week’s all-expense-paid romantic trip to Nairobi and Dubai.
The 1st and 2nd runner up will get a weekend stay at the Volta Serene Hotel whiles the rest get consolation prizes.
Sponsors of the contest include Adansi Travels, Kenya Airways, Labadi beach Hotel, ATL and Volta serene Hotel and event partners The Pearls Executive Network.
