The Multimedia Group Limited, through its radio brand Joy FM, in collaboration with Safari Eco Park, has launched the School Kids Project aimed at allowing students across the country to experience nature, wildlife, and outdoor learning.
The initiative was announced by the General Manager for Sales and Marketing at Multimedia Ghana, Max Fugar, during an interview on the Joy FM Super Morning Show on February 27.

According to Mr Fugar, the campaign is designed to ensure that these enriching experiences are accessible to schoolchildren from across the country.

Under the project, Max Fugar explained that primary school pupils would pay 100 cedis, while tertiary students would be charged 150 cedis to take part in the Safari Eco Park experience.
“What do they get for this? They get to, first on arrival, you see a new ecopark office, which was never here. And then you get into the orientation room, where you are given a general overview of what to expect whilst here,” he explained.

Visitors are then taken through an art gallery featuring African cultural artifacts. “Then you come into an art gallery where different sorts of artifacts from across Africa have been beautifully curated.”
According to him, Park 1 offers relaxation and interactive experiences. “You then enter the first park, Park 1. Now you are welcomed into park 1, with benches scattered throughout. So you can actually take a bit of time, chill, and picnic.”

He added, “We have the diners, which actually have snacks. So you can get your snacks, sit around, and listen to quiet music. And from there, you can visit an ant cave, which is again created by the team here. There's steam, there's the sound of thunder, and there's lightning in there.”

Describing Park 2, Max Fugar said it features a cafeteria area selling snacks, as well as table games and target games. He added that visitors can also interact with animals such as alpacas and dwarf horses, which may be fed directly from their hands.

Park 3 showcases larger wildlife species. “Another canopy walk takes you into park 3, where you see the bigger animals. You see the zebras, the wildebeest, the nyalas, the impalas, and others.”
He noted that visitors can relax after completing the tour. “When you are done with all this, you can either decide to actually chill out in the parks without moving, where you can snack, listen to music, and enjoy your time with us. These are the three parks that we have at the moment.”

Mr Fugar stressed that the experience is designed to be interactive and educational. “We say to every single person that comes through, 'This is not like watching movies. This is for you to immerse yourself in nature, where you make movies out of your own self.”

He clarified that the programme is specifically targeted at organised student groups. “It's for students, basically for students. This is to enable as many students as possible to be able to come through our doors.”

Touching on expansion plans, Max Fugar explained that Park 4 is located at Aqua Safari. He said the Eco Park currently has five parks, with parks 1, 2, and 3 at the main site, while parks 4 and 5—and a sixth park coming soon are at Aqua Safari.

The School Kids Project forms part of efforts by Joy FM and Safari Eco Park to promote environmental education and experiential learning among students through structured outdoor activities.
